Budget planner

A budget planner that explains your month, not just records it

Most budget planners stop at data entry. FinRayan takes the income, bills and spending you enter and tells you what the numbers mean, what's committed, what's genuinely free, and which category is about to decide your month.

What you can do in FinRayan

  • Set a monthly plan per category and watch actual spending against it
  • Separate fixed bills from flexible spending so you know your true baseline
  • Add weekly, monthly or yearly recurring items once instead of every month
  • See planned vs actual side by side, including forecasted amounts
  • Get a written read on the month and a suggested next step

Start with the three numbers that matter

A workable monthly budget needs three things before anything else: the money that actually lands in your account, the bills you cannot move this month, and whatever is left over. Everything else is refinement.

FinRayan asks for those three in order. Income first, then recurring bills with their due dates, then the flexible categories you want to steer. You can start with one income source and two bills and still get a useful picture on day one.

Plan by category, then check the drift

Once a plan exists, the useful question stops being "what did I spend?" and becomes "am I drifting, and where?". The budget view puts your plan and your actual spending in the same row so the gap is impossible to miss.

Recurring items are entered once with a weekly, monthly or yearly cadence, and forecasted amounts are shown alongside the actuals so a month that has not finished yet still reads honestly.

A budget you'll still be using in month three

Budgets fail from friction, not from bad math. The parts that usually kill them, re-entering the same bills, guessing at partial months, having no reason to open the app again, are the parts FinRayan tries to remove.

Recurring entries, a short weekly check-in, and a written monthly recap give the plan a reason to stay open. Nothing is auto-posted, nothing is guessed: every figure comes from something you entered.

Common questions

Is the budget planner free to use?
Yes. Building a monthly budget, adding income, bills and expenses, and tracking planned vs actual are part of the free plan. Premium adds deeper Insight features, and the pricing is shown up front on the Premium page.
Does FinRayan connect to my bank?
No. Entries are added by you. That keeps your credentials out of the picture entirely, and it means every number in your budget is one you recognise.
Which budgeting method does it support?
The planner is method-agnostic. 50/30/20, zero-based and pay-yourself-first all work, because you decide which categories exist and what each one is planned to hold.
Can I budget an irregular income?
Yes. Add each income source separately and plan against your lowest recent month; anything above that reads as a surplus rather than the baseline you depend on.
