Savings tracker

A savings tracker that shows the date, not just the bar

A progress bar tells you where you are. What you actually want to know is when you'll arrive at the current pace, and what would change that. FinRayan works out both from the contributions you record.

What you can do in FinRayan

  • Create goals with a target amount and, if you want, a target date
  • Record contributions and see the pace they add up to
  • See the projected finish month based on your own contribution history
  • Track several goals at once without them blurring together
  • Share progress as a card that shows percentages, with amounts hidden by default

Goals need a number and a name

"Save more" is not a goal; it's a mood. A goal has a target amount and something it's for. Naming it is not decoration, a labelled goal is measurably easier to leave untouched.

Pace beats totals

Once a few contributions exist, the interesting number is your pace: what you have been putting aside per month, and where that lands you. FinRayan projects the finish month from your own history, so the estimate moves as your behaviour does.

If a target date exists, the gap between required pace and actual pace is shown plainly, the earlier you see it, the smaller the correction.

Milestones worth sharing

Hitting 25%, 50% or the goal itself is a real moment. Share cards render the milestone as progress and percentage, with amounts hidden unless you deliberately turn them on, so nothing private leaves with the image.

Common questions

Can I track more than one savings goal?
Yes. Each goal keeps its own target, contributions and projected finish date, so an emergency fund and a holiday fund never blur together.
How is the projected date calculated?
From the contributions you have recorded. It's an estimate of your current pace, not a prediction about your income, and it changes as your contributions do.
Will sharing progress expose my balances?
No. Share cards hide amounts by default and show progress as a percentage. Revealing figures is an explicit choice you have to make.
